Nicknames

I recently got thinking about the nicknames we receive in life. Throughout a lot of Steve's life his hair has been shaved during the summer therefore he was dubbed "Baldy".

Other nicknames come from a young child who is unable to say a full name. When Vin was little he couldn't say Desiree it was always Ree. FYI: I use their nicknames in my posts. Makenna's has gone through an evolution as well. When she was born Vin called her "Nuna", it's been shortened since then.

Of course there are nicknames that we wonder where they came from. What's your nickname?

I remember always feeling left out because I was the only one in my family who didn't have a nickname -- Matthew = Matt, Catherine = Cathy, Amanda = Mandy, Tyrone = Ty, and Daniel James = DJ. Grandma Brickey called Mandy "Cricket" and I was so jealous, so I begged Grandma to call me "Bunny" (I guess I liked rabbits at the time). She agreed, of course, but it never stuck. Go figure. :) Interesting post! :)

Jake......how sad is that? My poor father had seven girls so he had to give me a boy nick name. :o)

My nickname is pretty easy since thats what everyone knows me as. My full name is Cassilynn, but everyone just calls me Cassi, so nothing to cool.
