I survived!

On Tuesday, July 21st, very early in the morning (6am) our Stake Young Women meet at the stake center to go to MIA Shalom. I remember having to set up tents and trek to the outhouse when I went to girl's camp. At MIA Shalom they have A-frame cabins and get to trek to the biffy, which has flushing toilets and cold showers.

Tuesday afternoon we got to play in the canoes.

Wednesday we hiked up to where the lone pine is. It is about the snow in this pic:

Here we are at the top looking back toward camp and the lake.

Our camp theme was becoming your own hero. So we make our own hero's.

Thursday we got to go play in the canoes also. That day our ward camp director brought some water guns. Needless to say many were soaked. The funniest is that two of our girls leaned to splash another canoe and tipped their canoe.

On Pioneer Day the stake leaders set up some activities. They taught us to curl hair using rags:

And let us try this game:

Here we are after we did our part in the "parade":

It was so much fun going as a leader. I have so much more respect for the youth leaders after this experience! I'm glad I got to go!

While I was gone my hubby was able to work from home and take care of our kids. One afternoon they decided to go to Kangaroo Zoo.

The kids loved it!

I won't tell my kids there is a place like that or they will want to go there every time we go to the city! Girls camp looks like it was fun!

I think it's great that you were able to go to camp. I got to attend winter camp in Feb. (I was inside the lodge) and loved it. It was fun to be with the youth. I'm glad that you had a good time.

I am glad that there are leaders like you that give our youth positve experiences. I looks like you had a lot of fun. Stephen said that he had enjoyed the time with the kids at home.
