When Ree was in Kindergarten and First grade we bought the pictures that are taken at school. I was not impressed. She had a weird smile on her face or puffy eyes. Now the photographer can't do anything about her puffy eyes, but a fake smile or no smile. So we decided that we will buy the class picture and we will either go somewhere where I can proof the pictures before we buy them or take pictures of them myself.
Friday, October 2nd was picture day at school. That evening we went to my parent's house and took some pictures of them while we were there. I let them choose where they wanted their pictures taken.

I've got to decided when and where to do our family pictures so I can get an updated family picture. I'm also going to do individual pictures at that time.

Those are so cute Chastina! I agree with you and for the price!!! Oh my! So not worth it.....and yet.....once again I paid to have the darn things done this year. :D Next year I need to do like you and just take them myself. So much more personality. So much better.
They do look so cute! Vin always looks like he is so excited for life. He must have tons of energy. You went the right way when you decided to do them yourself.
I love them all they look great. I only buy the class picture too, I was tired of paying for crappy pictures.

We often do our family pictures across the street from the Mt. Timp temple in the pavilion there. This year we went up the canyon and got some beautiful fall shots.
They turned out sooo cute! Good job.

My sentiments exactly. Our school pics were yesterday and, once again, I forked out $75 for the costly packages (3 kids). Why do I do this? Luckily, most years, our photos are o.k. but I like the ones from Target portrait studios (where I can get several 8x10's for $2.99 a piece. Much better deal for the money. I also take so many photos of them myself, so I don't know why I do it. Maybe I'll just do the class pic next year. Your personal photos are great.
