To knit or crochet?

In college a bunch of my roommates took up crocheting. It looked kind of fun, but I didn't want to "follow the crowd." About a week ago I decided that I should learn the basics of crocheting and knitting. So I googled "How to crochet" and "How to knit." I found a lot of great information and have been loving the video tutorials. I decided I'd start with a scarf. So I knitted the blue one. There are several mistakes in it, but Vin was so excited to finally have a scarf. (The girls each got a scarf last year, from the store, and the boys have wanted one.) After I finished Vin's, K started asking about his scarf. So I made the green one for him.

I know he doesn't look excited, but he loves it. He gets mad every time someone else wears it. Tonight he got really upset at his dad when Steve pretended that it was his scarf instead of K's.

I attempted crocheting before I knitted the scarfs. Now I'm going to try crocheting again. I think I'll start with a wash cloth (Now that everyone in my family has a scarf).

You will really enjoy that craft. Now you can go on to making afghans for you to snuggle up in on cold nights or some slippers to wear. You can do so many things now.

That's awesome! I have had so many people try to teach me, and lets just say I am not a crafty person. I always made everyone laugh by had bad I am. Good job!

I like to knit better than crochet. It's a fun hobby.

Yea! Don't you love the tutorials on the internet? That is how I've been learning a lot of my knitting too and when I get into a huge mess (like yesterday.......) I run to Heindsman's and they fix it for me. :D

So cool that you are learning to knit and crochet!!

Nice job!! I love crocheting but I've never learned how to knit. I don't think I have the patience to learn by myself. They look great!

The scarves turned out great. I really like crocheting and have recently been learning how to knit. They are both fun hobbies. Maybe our next get together should be a yarn party.
