So the school year has ended! Hooray!!
Vin's Kindergarten graduation was really cute. They sang several songs, gave gifts to the volunteers and the room mothers, and did a "march" where each student shook hands with the principal and their teacher and got a certificate saying they completed kindergarten. Normally we'd get the first grade teacher's name at the ceremony but next year we will have a new principal and we the boundary for our school is being rearranged. Steve was able to get off work to attend the graduation.
On Thursday morning we took Na to the eye doctor. When she looks down at the ground or her feet then looks up at your face her right eye goes to the right then back to the front while the other eye stays straight. The good news is she has 20/20 vision in both eyes and they track together. The bad news is she has a little muscle weakness in her right eye. As far as the doctor is concerned it isn't anything to worry about. We will need to watch her as she starts reading and take her in to have her eyes checked once a year to make sure her eyes are still developing normally. After the eye appointment I dropped the three younger kids off so my sister could watch them while I went to help with Ree's second grade end of the year party. They were finishing up the pizza when I got there. We went outside and played a couple relay games with water and water balloons. They loved it!
On Sunday we went to Platt's ward for Blake's blessing. Then over to their house for lunch and visiting. The kids didn't want to leave, if they had their choice all the cousins would live on the same block so they could all play together all the time.
Today Ree and Vin went to their first piano lesson. A young man in our ward is teaching piano until he goes on his mission (about a year from now). I thought it would help me and the kids to have someone beside me teach because I'm not the best at follow through. I like the idea of having an outside person for them to be accountable to for learning what they need to learn.
