So my husband decided to try to fix it. He opened the case and hooked up the hard drive to the computer he built. It worked! We are now able to access all the information! Hurray for a husband who is so great for figure out how to fix problems! Now we are copying the pictures and other info to another drive and we are going to copy them to DVDs asap.

I'm so happy for you. I would have cried and cried if that happened to me. I hope that you were able to move over all the files.
