I love the holidays! One of my favorite things is the advent calendars. I see them for Christmas but not for other holidays. So two years ago I did some searching. I found this on the Internet and made it myself.

Then I was trying to decide between treats/surprises in the pockets or something else. I decided that everyone should have a turn every day of the month so I did this:
The kids love moving their stick closer every day. Occasionally we get "jumpers" and I get to place the stick in the proper spot.
FYI: this was fairly easy. I used stickers or attached things with hot glue. This is the second year of use and it still looks good and I haven't had to replace anything yet.

I was just wondering if since so many had said they are going to copy-and I want to make something similar, what kind of material did you use?
