A Lesson

My first Sunday in YW another leader taught the lesson. Then the next Sunday the bishop taught; a member of the bishopric teaches on the first Sunday of each month. So today was my first time teaching a lesson in YW. The Beehives came in with the Mia Maids today.

I felt completely inadequate! I thought I was prepared but as I was presenting the lesson I felt as though I didn't prepare enough. I will definitely learn from this calling!

I'm sure that you did better then you think. I hope that you will enjoy your new calling, does it feel like you should be a part of the girls instead of a leader? It doesn't feel like all that long ago we were in their shoes.

I think that is why God gives us the callings he does, not for others, but for us! I'm sure you did great. The YW are so lucky.

I'm sure that you did great! I always enjoyed your sharing time lessons in Primary. I totally agree with Natalie I also think that we get the callings for ourselves mostly.

It will get easier, don't worry! We're always our toughest critics, and I've learned you never know when something you say in a lesson touches someone else. Keep at it!

I bet you did a lot better than you think. You've always done a good job with your talks, your sharing times.....I can pretty much guarantee you did a good job with your lesson.

I bet the room was very quiet, too quiet... Children that are actually sitting and listening??? This can't be right???
After being with the group sunbeams we have this year Young Womens will take some time to get used too!

That's the great thing about casllings. You get to learn as you go. It will get easier and you will gain more confidence in teaching over time. Besides, I'm sure the lesson was great!

I just got put in YW's too. I had to teach a combined YW lesson my second week and I was terrified. But I feel like I learned a lot, and besides that was way easier than teaching our crazy primary class we've had this year. I'm sure you will be great.
