This month Steve and I celebrate our 10th anniversary! Wow 10 years!
When we got married we spent our honeymoon moving into a townhouse in Logan. We have regretted that we didn't take the time to go on a trip for our honeymoon. So we decided to take a big trip for our anniversary this year.
Monday (Feb 23) I pulled some muscles in my back. It made Monday and Tuesday difficult in our trip preparation. It also worried me that it would affect our trip. Luckily, my back was better Tuesday night and much better on Wednesday.
Wednesday, Feb 25th we flew to LAX, then rented a car and drove to Anaheim.
When we were checking in Goofy came up and said hi to everyone in the Lobby.
Our room looked toward Downtown Disney. We could see a few lights at night.
The sign on the window says that the birds are very friendly so if you leave your window open the birds will come in your room.
We ate dinner Wednesday and breakfast Thursday at Goofy's Kitchen. Something we highly recommend because it is good food and you get to see about six different characters. We saw Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella, Alice, and Baloo.
We spent Wednesday evening then most of Thursday at Disneyland and California Adventure. It was nice doing things at our speed instead of at our kids' speed.
We went on Grizzly Rapids twice. We also went on the California Screamer as well as many others. The only ride we didn't get to go on that we wanted to was the Matterhorn, it was closed for maintenance.
Thursday night we drove back to L.A. and spent the night. Then Friday we caught a plane to Cancun, Mexico. We spent the rest of our time at the Palace Resorts. We stayed in the Moon Palace which was VERY nice.
Here are a couple pics of our room:
The jacuzzi tub is big enough for two people.
This is our view from the balcony:
This is also from our balcony. You can see the Cancun "strip".
That light blur is one of the many cruise ships we saw going by.
Here is the Cancun strip at night from our room.
In the next pic, we are next to our building. Those umbrellas on the beach are for people who paid for the Concierge level, they get a bottle of champagne brought to them if they want it.
This is a pic of the grounds:
And a pic of one of the pools:
On Saturday, we took a shuttle to the Cancun strip for some shopping. This is the Mexican Caribbean:
Our resort is affiliated with some other resorts on the strip. We stopped at one and went to the top. This was the view of the Caribbean:
This is also from the top, it is the Nichupte Lagoon:
This is from the beach looking back up at the hotel. (The above pics were taken from the top of the hotel.)
We had so much fun! Even though we only shopped, got a massage, and relaxed it is on our list of places we definitely want to go again.

Sounds like you guys had a great time. Glad you were able to go and have a little time to yourselves. What a way to celebrate 10 years.
Glad you guys had a great time. We took our 4 girls a couple years ago and ONCE was enough for us. Did Steve surprise you?
Looks like you had a ton of fun! You look good!
That looks so much fun. I bet the jacuzzi helped the back.
Wow, that looks like so much fun! Glad you could get out and celebrate! Cancun looks beautiful-and WARM! It seems like the Matterhorn is always closed. :( Welcome home...did you get the same snow storm we did? :)
Good for you! I am of the opinion people should wait to go on the honeymoon's until later anyway. I bet if a poll were taken almost all honeymoon's are spent with either one or both of the married person's sick..... :D
You don't fully appreciate the honeymoon until later. Especially! until after you have kids and it is so glorious to get away just the two of you.
I'm so glad you two were able to go. Good for you!!!
Congrats!! I have to wait 10 years for that?? :)
What a great trip! Happy 10th Anniversary! We celebrate #10 in November.
Looks like you had a great time. We have talked about doing something like that forever, maybe I should get with you and find out where you stayed. We have past our 10 year but we do have one coming up in a couple months. :)
That looked like so much fun, and what a nice way to celebrate 10 years.
We had a horrible honeymoon also, I got sick for about 2 weeks. So we keep thinking of trying to do something nice to make up for it.
I would have hated coming back to this weather, the beach looked so beautiful, and warm.
This looked like so much fun! I'm so glad that you were able to get away and have a good time.
Wow! What a fantastic getaway! Cancun looks gorgeous as does the room you stayed in.
