Steve and I took a nice trip. On Wed, the 25th we flew into Long Beach, then drove to Universal Studios.
We went on the Studio Tour. Look it’s Jaws!
Rode the new Transformer ride that doesn’t open until May (they were doing test runs).
Rode the Mummy ride:
And did Jurassic Park.
This is Universal from our hotel:
Thursday we went back to Universal. It was a little wet both days, but it made the lines shorter.
We rode all the rides, and saw all the shows that we wanted to see.
Thursday afternoon we drove to Santa Monica, walked along the beach and explored the pier.
That night we met up with Rusty and stayed at his place in Ventura. Then Friday, we went to Santa Barbara. We rented some bikes and rode on a couple trails and into down town Santa Barbara.
It was strange to be able to look over the side of the pier and not have a railing.
We also went to the Santa Barbara mission. I LOVE their gardens.
Friday night Rusty grilled some onions. YUM! and we vegged out and enjoyed looking at the ocean from his patio.
Saturday we said goodbye to Rusty then drove to Balboa Penninsula. We walked along Newport Beach and went to a bakery to get a Balboa Bar (Vanilla ice cream, covered by hand dipped chocolate then rolled in your choice of five or six toppings) and a maple bar.
(This picture was taken just because my SIL said that she hadn’t seen any silly pictures of Steve yet.)
We took the Coastal Highway back to Long Beach to catch our flight home.
We got home after the kids were in bed. They were very excited to see us Sunday morning.
Thanks to Jason and my mom for watching our kids for us!
